Common Questions

Mobile grooming is a private one-on-one service unlike going to a salon. We come to you, and once your pet enters our truck we cater to them during the whole process. There’s no waiting in cages for hours unlike at a pet store or shop. No other pets are near to cause stress. Many salons groom as many as 15-30 pets per day. Our service is designed to be a private luxury service. This means there is no cage drying, and your pet is worked on from start to finish with no distractions. This limits the amount of pets we can schedule each day.

Because we reserve the time for you specifically, and because you are grouped in a route, if you need to cancel/reschedule we ask for 48 hours notice without a cancellation fee. This will allow enough time for us to find a replacement pup for your groomer. Your groomer counts on a full route for their income. If we do not have 48-hours notice, there is a $50 cancellation fee.
In order to maintain a proper and manageable coat, it is recommended that you have your dog groomed every 4, 6 or 8 weeks. This will keep your dogs fur or hair from getting painfully matted. Dogs that shed a lot will also be better maintained by a regular schedule and shedding will be diminished if groomed regularly. Every dog is a little different, and each owner’s lifestyle is different, so our groomers are trained to give you a recommendation on the proper groom frequency for your pet.
Our job is to help you maintain your dogs coat properly. Once we groom your pet, we can give you guidance on how often your dog should be groomed. By going on a recurring cycle, you always have your spot reserved on our schedule. It is also because we are very route-based and it will reserve your spot on your groomers route. Dogs that are groomed on a regular schedule view grooming as routine and part of their life, and not only accepts it but comes to enjoy it, whereas dogs who are seasonally groomed view it as punishment and can become fearful, unruly or aggressive for their grooming appointment. Regular grooming is essential to healthy skin and coat, and it prevents mats from forming.
We work on your pet as soon as we bring your little one on board. Most pups take us about an hour to an hour and a half.
We run into many unpredictable things in our day. Doggie behavior can be a little unpredicatable, as well as traffic. Certain coat conditions might take us more or less time than estimated as well. We are pretty good about time, but do ask for the half hour swing time on either side of the appointment time.

No. Pets are calmer and more well-behaved for grooming when the owner is not present. When the owner is present, the dog is so focused on the owner that it disrupts the grooming process. It simply is harder on the dog and the groomer. We need the dog's full attention. We are using very sharp equipment around your pet’s eyes and other sanitary areas. With the owner present, the dog will not remain still enough for us to groom him safely.
The cost is based on several factors, including: the breed of the dog, what you want done, the condition of the coat, and the pet’s behavior. All pets are different. As hard as you try to describe your dog, his hair, his behavior and what you want done over the phone, without seeing your dog or meeting your dog, we cannot give you an exact price over the phone – only an educated approximation.
Because it hurts, A LOT! It's not fair to the dog! We will try our best to save as much of the coat as possible, and use a deep conditioner that works to detangle the hair. But brushing out matting also makes your pet dread the grooming process, as they associate being in pain with it each time. Weeks or months-worth of mat build up can not be removed in one grooming session. We will always choose humanity over vanity. If the dog has a mat or two, that is a different story – we will do our best to remove the mat and continue on with the haircut.
There is no discounting on haircut dogs, as we charge only for the time it takes to do the cut. However, if we are at your home for a haircut dog and you have an additional bath dog that is quick and easy to do that does not require a haircut, we can work with you a bit on price on your bath dog. This also applies if you have two bath dogs. If your pups are quick and easy to do and you have two bath dogs, then we will work with you a bit on price to bathe both pups.

That's the beauty of mobile grooming - no! Once we've met and we're on the same page as to what you would like for a haircut, then you do not need to be present for appointments if your schedule requires otherwise. Latch Key service is available!
